Initially formed in the year 1919, the primary goal of the Colombo Chetty Association of Sri Lanka is to foster fellowship amongst the community. To encourage this, the association organizes a variety of social, sporting and spiritual events allowing the members of the Chetty Community to meet regularly on an annual basis.

In addition, the Colombo Chetty Association reaches out to impoverished and disenfranchised members of the Chetty Community by the way of scholarships, food items / dry ration, health camps etc. The Association has many ties in the Puttalam and Kurunegala Districts and is engaged with many of its schools, vocational training centers, churches, orphanages and aged care homes.
